In the Morning
Bare feet
hit frosty sand with a crunch.
Seagulls beckon me forward
with screeching, squawking sirens.
Crisp, salty breeze
wraps around me.
The sun will be rising soon.
I sit down
on a squishy, soggy log.
Waiting for sun.
Waiting for warmth.
Wild waves crash and smash
in the midnight blue morning.
