Jake Bailey Recount

On the 31st of July rooms seven, one and eight meet in the library to listen to Jake Bailey talk about his battle with cancer and the life lessons he learnt.

Jake Bailey came here with The Life Education trust. First jake talked about his battle with cancer. He had the fastest growing cancer in the world Burkitt's Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After he talked about that he talked about his life lessons he learned while he had cancer. The first lesson he talked about was being brave and resilient. He said that ‘you can fake being brave as long as you keep moving forward.’

The next thing Jake Bailey talked about was happiness. He said that ‘happiness is a skill you have to learn.’ Jake Bailey also talked about worries. Jake said ‘ don’t waste your time worrying about the little things and the future, focus on the bigger issues.’
As well as talking about being brave Jake Bailey talked about his fears before he had cancer that he had overcome.

Jakes biggest message to us was that ‘we have a responsibility to live our lives and take every opportunity that comes up.’  He said to ‘give 100% to everything and be our very best.’ I thought that Jake Bailey was very inspirational and was a fabulous speaker.
