Reducing Plastic

As part of our learning about the environment this term, we have been thinking of ways of reduce the amount of waste in our lunch box and everyday. We have made reusable material bags to use instead of plastic bags. It took awhile to make all of the material bags.  We also made beeswax wrap to use instead of beeswax wrap. Room 7 are encouraging people to use these alternatives instead of single use plastic bags or  glad wrap.  I found grating the beeswax quite challenging. I really enjoyed making them both. To make beeswax wrap you get a peice of cotton and sprinkle grated beeswax on top. After that you put a peice of baking paper on top then iron it until the beeswax is melted. Then you take the baking paper off ( be careful it will be hot) and hang it to dry. It only takes about 1 minute.
